with not only 15 races to choose from, but also
39 character classes providing players with
numerous gameplay styles. Each realm has a set
of classes available to it, which provide a
certain strength to the realm as a whole. The
world of Dark Age of Camelot is comprised of
three Realms at war - Hibernia, Midgard, and
Albion.
The struggle
between the Realms resulted from the power vacuum
created by King Arthur's death. Each Realm is
geographically diverse from one another and
follow a specific mythological tradition. Albion
is the land of King Arthur's heirs. Hibernia
is based on Irish Celtic legends, with a dash
of high fantasy. Midgard follows the Viking
Norse sagas and legends. bringing our players
the latest updates, server statuses, Realm vs
Realm statistics, guides, and more through the
use of The Camelot Herald.
The Camelot Herald
is a massive community site built with the sole
purpose of communicating with our players and
providing them all of the documentation and
information they need to enjoy their online
gaming experience. The latest news regarding
servers, the company, and the game can be found
on its front page. From maps to stats, players
will find the tools and statistics available
on the Herald to be invaluable to their gameplay
enjoyment.
Dark Age of Camelot
provides players with a total of 15 playable
character races, five per realm, which give
an immersive gameplay experience to the realms
the players choose to play in. From the frigid
mountains of Midgard to the rolling hills of
Hibernia, players will find many customizable
options with their race options. With Arthur's
death, peace between the three realms was shattered
and a massive fight for the relics of each realm
began. An ongoing struggle of epic proportions
is now a constant in the lives of many citizens
of the once shining Camelot.
Players are thrust
into an immense struggle for their realm's supremacy
by fighting in a neverending battle for keeps,
ancient relics of power and their futures. The
frontiers provide a battleground for the numerous
keeps that must be conquered to reign supreme
over the other two realms. Each realm has its
own frontier, which must be protected by its
citizens. Its keeps determine the amount of
control one realm has over its own territory
or the territory of others. Capturing these
keeps can yield a greater ability to take the
relic keeps, which guard powerful relics of
power and strength.
When captured,
they bring bonuses to the victorious realm.
Realm vs Realm battles are completely voluntary.
Players who do not enjoy Player vs Player combat
may opt to not participate by simply not traveling
to the frontiers of their enemies or their own
frontier. Players who thoroughly enjoy a full
Player vs Player experience may join the Mordred
server for hardcore PvP combat. There is also
the option for a full Player vs Environment
server by joining Gaheris, where realms cooperate
to meet many goals in PvE.
